At CWF we work directly with the local community running several community groups to bring people together from a range of backgrounds and circumstances. In addition to this we also work with many more independent local groups to provide them with training and resources to operate more effectively.
Launched in February 2009 as a secular alternative to church, Humanist Community aims to bring together the kind of sense of community you find in a traditional religious congregation - but without the religion, the preaching and the dogma.
The project was originally a one year pilot programme but due to high demand by attendees has since been extended.

With Skeptics in the Pub and Drinking Skeptically groups going strong worldwide and the London group having recently celebrated their tenth anniversary, it was time that such a group was started in Leeds. And so in January 2009 the group was officially launched.
The group meets each month with a different guest speaker introducing a topic followed by group discussion over a few drinks.
